Mr. Khalil is a certified NACE-CP specialist, he has over 15 years of experience in green field and brown field Oil &Gas projects in a variety of countries like Egypt, Syria, Sudan, Jordan, Qatar, KSA, UAE, Libya and the UK.

He has extensive experience in Project Engineering and Integrity Management of Oil & Gas exploration and production assets as such so many new development projects and integrity management assignments have been accomplished with substantial participation and contribution in material selection, corrosion engineering, fabrication and quality surveillance, corrosion control, integrity management across the whole Asset Life Cycle including “Concept or Conceptual” phase, “Define or FEED” phase, “Execute or EPC” phase, “Operate” phase, and “Inspect & Maintain” phase.

Mr. Khalil professional capabilities, Duties and Responsibilities:

Material Selection and Corrosion Control:

🔸Prepare & review Materials Selection Diagrams (MSD’s).

🔸Prepare & review Materials Selection Philosophy Report (MSPR)

🔸Prepare and review of Material specifications for the piping and equipment (PV, Tanks, Heat Exchangers …etc.).

🔸Review of materials specification versus different international specification standards (ASTM, ASME, API, EN, BS, DIN… etc.).

Material Fabrication and Supplier Quality Surveillance Assurance:

🔸Participate in supplier and sub-supplier pre-qualification audits e.g. steel mills, forging masters, foundries, manufacturer’s workshop …etc.

🔸Participate in review of supplier’s ITPs or QCP, particularly for critical equipment.

🔸Attend Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM) at manufacturing locations.

🔸Review and evaluate supplier’s Technical Queries (TQs), Non-Conformity Records (NCRs), Concession Requests (CRs)

Chemical Inhibition and Corrosion Monitoring:

🔸Participate and discuss with process engineers and understanding of process flow regime

🔸Chemical Selection and Evaluation i.e. liaison with chemical suppliers, preparation of Chemical Selection Procedure, Lab Testing Protocol, Field Trial Protocol, Chemical Performance Evaluation…etc.

🔸Recommend Chemical Treatment Programs, particularly for integrity   chemicals such as Corrosion Inhibitors, Biocides, Oxygen Scavengers

🔸Select corrosion monitoring equipment, devices, and decide locations.

🔸Review corrosion monitoring and chemical injection records.

Cathodic Protection:

🔸Prepare and/or Review of Cathodic Protection Specifications.

🔸Basic and detailed design of Cathodic Protection System (sacrificial & impressed current) for different structures.

🔸Preparation of material requisition for Cathodic Protection System.

🔸Cathodic protection vendors’ clarification, technical evaluation, as well as preparation of Technical Evaluation Report.

🔸Review of Cathodic Protection Design Package prepared by CP contractor during detailed engineering phase.

🔸Installation supervision of cathodic protection installations.

🔸Pre-commissioning, and commissioning of cathodic protection system.

🔸CP Survey, performance audit, and assessment.
